Kudos to anyone who caught the "Speed Buggy" reference.

Anyway, it seems the #1 thing I've had to bitch about for months now is a huge step closer to being gone...got together with a couple of sargeants I work with and did some work on my car.

All I can say is

GOOD FNARKING GODS

but that poor thing was abused! Literally NOTHING inside of it has ever been changed out since it came off the assembly line EIGHT YEARS AGO! This includes the spark plugs, wires, air filter, and fuel filter (which was so damned clogged it wasn't funny. We put a compressed oxygen canister to one end of it to clear it out and stuff was merely SPUTTERING out the other end when it should've been LAUNCHED.) , which we swapped out. We also gave it a bottle of "Red Line" fuel injection cleaner to help clear things out.

DAMN but that thing runs a lot better now! If nothing else the exhaust doesn't smell like pure fuel anymore. ^^

Tomorrow I'm taking it out to AutoZone to get another engine check done on it (turns out THEY can do it for FREE....dammit, NOW the fnarkers tell me!) to see if anything else, such as the oxygen sensors, needs looking at.

Still, if nothing else this should be enough to get me to the airport, Baltimore, and Saluda, so I should actually be set for leave.
