Well, long story short I just beat Breath of the Wild, which means my biggest obstacle to getting back tot Pokemon Sun is officially cleared!
I'll admit I didn't do most of the DLC stuff, but frankly once I worked out what it entailed I wanted nothing to do with it. 1 challenge required you to go through a series of micro-dungeons with no equipment, with the end result being a power boost to the Master Sword. The other involved taking on a bunch of enemies with a weapon that makes everyone die in one hit...yourself included...with the reward being a shortening on the cooldown time of some of your abilities.
In other words, in order to get the things the DLC gives you, you first have to prove you're good enough that you have no need of them whatsoever. That, in my book, counts as not only pointless, but flat out fucking insulting.
The fuck's the point in getting a more powerful weapon once you've taken on an enemy with 2000 HP with no armor and a stick for a weapon, or having your healing ability work 3x faster when you've wiped out an armada without getting nicked once? They simply become bragging rights rewards at that point, and I'm honestly kinda pissed that I spent extra money on something that banal.
At least the rest of the game kicked all sorts of ass...including mine for a good while, but conquering that obstacle just made ultimate victory that much sweeter.
One last thought: Urbosa is officially my favorite character IN THE ENTIRE ZELDA FRANCHISE.
