xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Soldato J-002)

Well, that just chaps my ass. :[

Apparently some fuck managed to get into my Visa card account and rack up an extraneous charge on me. Bank of America's fraud division got on it as soon as I called, so that's all going to get taken care of, but now I'm gonna have to go the next few days without it, and then get used to a credit card with a whole different number on it.

Fair warning to all my friends: If you see a charge from "UOL*THE NAMESDATABASE" on your account, that's the rat bastard who got me.

(Side note: the chosen music isn't entirely appropriate for the moment; I'm not exactly pissed about this and definitely not in any kind of "fuck my life" mood; I just like this song and hate this fuckwad who tried screwing me over. Truth be told, even if BoA decides to keep this charge on my account...it's twelve bucks. I think I'll be able to survive that; I'm just getting the card changed to make sure it's no worse than that.)

Yeah, that sort of thing sucks, man. It happened to me back in 2005; someone got hold of my card details, and I didn't even notice their first transaction, I just thought I hadn't been paid yet that week. Then they went down to London and spent £800 on new carpets. Everything got refunded, but you're right, it's better to nip it in the bud before they take it and run away with it.

WHAT indeed.
