If you're one of the few people who listens to these off-the-wall rants, you've undoubtedly heard about President Bush's statement on Tuesday that, "if necessary", he would support a constitutional amendment barring people of the same gender from marrying.
Now, I've just come out of a rather deep zen moment after finally figuring out where my spiritual center is (sadly, I found it's about 4 feet to my left.), so I'm trying rather hard not to fly off the handle on this one...unfortunately, after reading through this Yahoo News article a few times, I find all my initial impressions more or less going up in smoke, along with most of my attempts to keep cool.
Yeah, we all know he's vehemently anti-gay-marriage. At least nowadays he's giving the appearance that he's not going to try to take that personal view and turn it into law...whether that's genuinely coming from his heart or if he's just trying to cover his ass, I don't really know.
I'd LOVE to believe he's honest about leaving these issues up to the states...even though, as I've said in the past, the legal system really shouldn't even be butting in on this whatsoever...but what can I say. I've been duped by Dubya before, I'm not up to letting it happen again.
I guess for now I'll just have to sit back and see how things transpire...
That's it.
