Happy (insert holiday of choice here)!
...What, you were expecting something more profound?
Anyway, yeah, this Christmas is looking to be rather boring...the first one I've spent away from my family in my whole life. No presents under the tree....hell, no tree. Isn't even room for one here.
But you know what? That's perfectly alright with me. I've never been big on pre-ordained celebrations. I mean, seriously...I'm supposed to get excited over a particular day of the year just because it's been given a fancy name? No thanks. When something happens that's worth celebrating, I'll celebrate it. Until then, I'm perfectly content just doing normal fun stuff, even on the holidays.
Besides, I'm personally rather hard pressed to find a single family in the world that continues to be excited about Christmas after 3 PM when all the shredded giftwrap has finally been squeezed into the trash can in the dining room. After that I've seen that things apparently tend to return to the usual pleasant routine.
So yeah...am I bummed about being away from my family for Christmas? Sort of. But still, I'm content with the smaller pleasures in life...getting to spend some time with milady, going for casual drives with no real destination, wandering around shopping malls with no intention of ever buying anything, hitting every DDR machine I find and pumping out a good $1.50 into each one, or just sitting back and enjoying a few swigs of a fresh-brewed gallon of tea...that's all fine with me.
So what'll I be doing for Christmas? Working on a couple of model kits I picked up and doing some research on some old mythology theories I've had running through my head.
So anyway, have a happy holiday season, and I'll catch ya on the 26th...unless milady and I are too busy celebrating the holidays in our own little way, anyway. ;b
That's it.
