My deepest wish bears the glyph of technomancy, the ability to communicate with the spirits of the digital and mechanical plane. Whenever I slept, with nothing more than a touch or a thought I could manipulate data within a computer, diagnose the cause of an engine failure, contact someone's pager through a satellite feed, and plunge my thoughts into the deepest depths of cyberspace. The fear known as the Y2K Bug was nothing more than a passing chuckle to me. System freezes did nothing more than chill my drinks, firewalls not but cooking ovens. Gigabytes of information were as minute as a grain of sand to my mind. On the Net I was the Alpha and the Omega, the Zero and the One of every bit of data on the face of the Earth.
