xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Default)
Gay couples can't come to Masschusetts to get married.

Well, unless they move there, anyway. The state's highest court ruled that if you don't live in the state, the state's law allowing you to marry someone of your own gender does not apply to you and does not allow you to circumvent your own state's laws, as mandated in a law passed back in 1913.

Apparently, gay couples from outside the state don't like this, and filed a lawsuit against the state for allegedly "dusting off" an old law for discrimination purposes.

So lemme get this straight (no pun intended): They want to duck into a state where gay marriage is legal, then duck back home to where it ISN'T legal (at which point it would no longer be recognized ANYWAY), and when they're told they can't do that, they throw a sissy fit!?

Wilren's combined IQ estimation of the plaintiffs: 68.

To quote 2 the Ranting Gryphon, where did these guys get this 60Hz ground hum they call brain activity?

...I'd throw my favorite Thwomp picture in here right now, but since I'm on a computer at work and Photobucket is blocked here, I can't get to it. But in closing, I just have 3 words to say to the people filing these suits:

QUIT.

FUCKING.

WHINING.

Personally, I'm just glad to see a judicial system where common sense actually proved victorious over bitching and complaining. I'm all for gay rights, but I have no sympathy for stupidity.

...That's it.
