"The more pointless something is, the more strongly I remember it."
First corollary: "The more important something is, the faster I forget it."
Prime examples of this oft-proven law:
-7 times today, I forgot who had just called leaving an important message (thank you, lord, for giving me the sense to write the message itself down at least!)...and yet apparently I'm the only person in my whole command aware of the fact that the band "Atreyu" took its name from a character in "The Neverending Story"...a movie I haven't seen in about 18 years.
-In middle school, I couldn't quote the Pledge of Allegiance. I could, however, quote the entirety of Disney's "Aladdin". Every character. Every line. Start to finish.
-5 minutes after intensely studying my high school Spanish book, I couldn't remember a lick of it. 10 years after last touching the cartridge, I still knew where every Mushroom and Warp Zone in Super Mario Bros. 2 was.
