Kiss kiss bang bang.
26 Jun 2008 17:17As I'm sure you guys are aware by now, the Supreme Court issued a ruling earlier today declaring the ban on firearms in DC unconstitutional.
(news article for those who missed it.)
I can sum up my opinion thusly:
About. Freakin'. Time.
Personally, I think that people who believe banning private ownership of firearms will bring down the crime rate are idiots. All it does is give those who already ignore law more to ignore, which they obviously have no problem doing, and leave those of us who abide by the law less able to protect ourselves.
I can totally agree with restrictions against things like taking guns to a school (although I wouldn't be against any school security guards packing a firearm, if it helps them do their job a little bit better), but at my own home, I want to be able to protect myself and my family on my own if need be.
...Of course, I'd prefer to do so with a few feet of sharpened steel myself, but that's another story.
Anyway, dinner beckons. Rennar out. ^.^
