Getting a bit artsy.
3 Oct 2012 23:57While it's nice that I've been able to get back into play Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: the Gathering since moving down here to Anchorage, it was a fairly annoying realization to be reminded that I left all of my playmats back home, including 2 I designed myself. It's not much fun getting bits of God-Only-Knows-What stuck on my card sleeves...interferes with shuffling, looks tacky, and has that slight sense of Eeeuuuughh.... about it.
While I could just get my folks to mail them down, I'm considering making another one instead, so for the past few days I've been tinkering with one of my older projects, themed on the "Gishki Aquamirror" spell card.
Basically, I used the Aquamirror both as the primary background image and, with some creative editing, as the framework for each of the card zones. In the first version, the mirrors were all the same color, but recently I decided to alter their colors to more match the zones.
I think I've got it to where I want it...problem is, I think I've got it there with 2 different designs, thanks to a(n un?)fortunate slipped trackpad click making the layer with the Card Zone names disappear at one point; the end result caught my interest.
In any case, I made a 1:3 scale copy of the image file in both forms to try and get some opinions.

So anyway, yeah, can't make up my mind...little help? Maybe some input on it?
Thanks in advance, guys. :]
