Okay, so...
30 Jun 2013 20:03A while back, I dropped $50 on a new PS3 controller due to thinking my old one had been fried by a static shock (had it plugged into the console to recharge, went to pick it up...ZAP. Thing went completely non-responsive.)
Came to find the old one was working again, nearly went to return the controller...and then realized that I could play Portal 2's co-op mode at last. Even if it was going to be a solo run with me handling both characters.
As of now I've made it up to the 5th or 6th section of level 3.
I honestly don't know whether to be proud of being able to solo a 2-player game, or feel like an idiot for doing this.

davidn: Apparently the case for my copy of Portal 2 is back in Nome, so my ability to check your theory on the Steam download code is somewhat obstructed.)
