I had a dream last night that, somehow, my laptop had gone to pieces. I first noticed when, while trying to insert a DVD to watch, that I had to put it in PS1-style...and that the components under the spindle that the disc goes on were a bit loose.
I undid the screw holding the spindle (and everything below it) down to take a look, and that's when I noticed that the CPU and other circuit boards had come out; the screws that held the CPU in place had wiggled loose from years of use and everything else just went along for the ride.
I pulled out a grounding strap and a non-conductive plastic mat, which I now realize were both from my old workplace at Andrews AFB, set it on there, grounded myself out, and got to work putting stuff back in. At one point I noticed one component I was trying to put in was actually a goldfish-shaped wall ornament with a little plastic suction cup on the back of it; somehow the tips of its tail lined up with the exhaust vents. I shrugged and slapped it, and a few other items like it, on the wall.
I finally got things put back together correctly, struggling with the screws that hold the CPU in place due to not having a screwdriver for them (which is weird because I had one a moment prior to take that one screw off), went to fire it up to see if it worked...and woke up.
O_o???????
