Alice in Chains - Nothing Safe: Best of the Box
First 10-12 years of my life weren't all that bad. Then 6th grade hit and one poorly-timed altercation with my math teacher left adolescent me an absolute mess, nigh-impossible to motivate and loaded with trust issues towards authority figures that still follow me to this day.
Bitch.
I guess it's only natural my taste in music would turn away from the things that brought younger me joy and towards things that would help me vent my disdain and frustration. That first came in the form of "Angry Chair," introducing me to the world of grunge rock.
That opening E-flat power chord still gives me goosebumps to this day.
The sheer release that a thrashing track can give you was a massive boost back then. Still helps from time to time nowadays, to be truthful; I've found Falling in Reverse's "Popular Monster" to be a newer addition to the list of songs I can blow off some steam to.
...But that's getting more into my next entry, I suppose.
