One thing I like about the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series is the designs they come up with for the "Duel Disks," the devices they use to produce the holograms that do all the battling. Each season has come up with a number of various designs (my favorite official one to this day is the one Johan used while possessed by Yubel. That thing just looked badass.
Naturally, as I tend to do with things I'm a fan of, I came up with some designs of my own. My favorite is based on the design used in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V series, where the "disk" portion of it was a solid-hologram (because anime logic) that projected out from the wrist-mounted device; as it was meant to have an occult-ish theme for the OCs I designed it for, I call it the Dark Arts Duel Disk. Oddly enough, that wound up being the last thing I ever uploaded to deviantArt, and has since become my most popular piece. (Though I suspect most of the likes are from bots. XP)
The past few days, I've revamped the design a bit for reasons I don't quite get. And in the process, I seem to have gone rather deep into blueprint territory...I think this may be enough info to actually build one of these as a cosplay prop. XP
As much as I still adore the original coloration, I decided to top this redesign off with a new color scheme...perhaps just for myself rather than the characters it was made for, at least.
