I think I may need to lay off the Kamen Rider a bit.
As is prone to happen to me, or most folk now that I think about it, when I get to liking something particularly well, I begin to brainstorm my own ideas for characters, or even entire storylines, based on those things.
Even so, I think I may have gone into just a bit too much detail with this particular idea.
Working Title: Kamen Rider Drive
Basic storyline idea: The world has fallen under the rule of an invading alien force known simply as "The Rider Lords", who utilize powers and forms similar to those of the Kamen Riders of that world's legends. People live out their lives in daily fear of these tyrannic creatures, long having forgotten such ideas as freedom and happiness. Then, one day, in the Rider Lord's central domain in what was once Tokyo, a strange man appears, bearing a strange device that transforms him into an entity of legend: a Kamen Rider. Who is this man? Why have the Rider Lords enslaved humanity? Will he set them free...or plunge the world into deeper darkness?
CHARACTERS:
-Unnamed (haven't thought of one) man: A stranger to everyone, even himself, who only knows of his desire to defeat the Rider Lords. Using the mysterious "Kaiser Drive" device, he transforms himself into the only force capable of standing up to them...
-Kamen Rider Drive: At first believed by all to be a new oppressor sent by the Rider Lords, this masked warrior fights the world's oppressors. Whether it is for justice, revenge, or something more, nobody knows.
-The 12 Rider Lords: Alien warriors possessing immense power, power enough to crush and enslave the entire world, ruling over humanity in totalitarian martial law. Until the stranger's arrival, their rule and might was unquestioned and unmatched.
-The Kuchimuras: A family living in what was once an old shrine, who were nearly slain by one of the Rider Lords for practicing their faith. They were saved by the unnamed man and, in return, have allowed him to stay with them for food and shelter.
-Ren: A wise, and wise-assed, voice that speaks into the stranger's mind. It offers guidance, urges him on in his quest to destroy the Rider Lords, rarely speaks of itself, and generally just annoys the living hell out of him.
DEVICES:
-Kaiser Drive: A semi-sentient handheld device that transforms its user into the mighty soldier, Kamen Rider Drive. It consists of 3 parts.
--Drive Device: A multi-use device, with enough functions to put an iPhone to shame. Its most prominent feature is the key slot on its top.
--Form Driver: A key made to work with the Drive Device. Inserting and turning it engages the Kaiser Drive's transformation sequence.
--Lap Belt: A belt that appears around the holder's waist when the Form Driver is turned in the Drive Device. When the Drive Device is connected at the front and locked into place, the transformation takes place.
-Kaiser Knuckle: Kamen Rider Drive's primary weapon, capable of generating powerful punches. It apparently has other functions as well, but for some reason, none of them seem to work.
