xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Darius)

Got me thinking...

Earlier today, while checking my Yahoo account for the occasional bits of actual email I get (I primarily use it as a dump account for anything that carries a risk of spam), it inadvertently logged me onto YIM, at which point an old friend of mine...not sure if it was [livejournal.com profile] anher or [livejournal.com profile] stryck...contacted me, commenting on how I hadn't been on there forever.

I just noticed that message a few minutes ago.

Truth be told, I haven't voluntarily logged onto any of my old IM accounts for years, but this got me to wondering...why haven't I?

And despite the fact that I can't find a single good answer to that, at the same time, I just have zero inclination to do so. It's no disdain against anybody I used to know on there, it's not any wish to separate myself from my past or anything...whenever the notion hits me it just kinda...fizzles.

*scratches head, shrugs* I 'unno. Maybe after a long day at work of having to deal with passengers of all sorts, I'm just a bit burnt out on talking to people. I do rather enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, and I guess that's a little difficult to achieve with IM alerts dinging and flashing on the screen every few seconds.
