The problem with any fandom, I guess..
Is that inevitable moment where you run into what TV Tropes refers to as the "Fan Dumb."
In this particular case, I've spent a portion of the day catching crap from MLP fans for, when quoting Monty Python's "Spanish Inquisition" skit, using the term "nobody" rather than "nopony."
