It's primarily for
kjorteo's benefit, so if you're not part of the group watching him bleed our sanity dry via "Hatoful Boyfriend," don't bother looking under the cut.
This is mostly to clarify what I was trying to get at about the massive storyline divergence that happened on Anghel's route: While I mentioned that the different routes will often hint at each other (primarily to get the player interested in giving the other routes a go), what I meant to bring up was that taking different routes also completely changes the course of events in the game. Certain events that would happen if you chose to go about things in one way won't happen at all if you choose to do them another.
To give a more in-context example, I'll reference a visual novel I've been playing recently, Deus Machina Demonbane. There are 3 routes the game can take: 1 has the big bad of the game being reborn from within Cthulhu (yes, THAT Cthulhu; the game is based entirely around Lovecraftian mythos), another has him being reborn in a much more literal sense from within a cosmic entity taking the form of a catgirl you befriend, and the third has him...taken out of the picture entirely, replaced by a bit player from the other two routes who proves about 80% as evil and 5000% as psychotic.
In the case with Anghel, calling him into the mortal realm with that wish is apparently what sets in motion the chain of events that turn Shuu from "Dr. Murderbeaks" into "The Harbinger of Doomsday."
...Which basically makes that near-brush with the Apocalypse your fault. Nice job. :b
