With X/Y being well established and AS/OR on the horizon, I thought it might be fun to see what team everyone would run using 1 non-Legendary Pokemon from each of the 6 generations, as well as a team consisting of 1 Legendary for each one.
Since I'm bringing this up, I may as well start things off. :] (It may surprise a few people how few Eeveelutions are on the list...they're my favorite as an overall theme, but not quite top of the list for the most part.)
GEN 1: It was a toss-up between Sandslash, Nidoking, Venonat, and Lapras..ultimately I went with Lapras.
GEN 2: Houndoom, hands down.
GEN 3: Had to do some research, because I never played Ruby/Sapphire. Still, may be a bit cliche, but I had to go with Gardevoir.
GEN 4: Well, I did mention the Eeveelutions were scarce on this list, but here's where they showed up...after all, this WAS the game that introduced Leafeon.
GEN 5: This was a tough one for me on account of minimal exposure to Black/White...among the ones I recognized, my favorite was Scolipede.
GEN 6: For breaking me of my Grass-type starter ways, soloing 2 gyms, and just being flat-out adorable through all her evolutions, I have to go with Delphox on this one.

GEN 1: Articuno, hands down. That thing is just gorgeous.
GEN 2: The only one I found myself wanting to catch for reasons other than "have it in the Pokedex?" Suicune.
GEN 3: Latios...hmm, is it just me, or are all my favorite Legendaries blue?
GEN 4: I know this was the game that introduced the almighty Arceus and Giratina, but Cresselia was always my favorite in this one. (Also, so much for the blue theory.)
GEN 5: Not familiar with the Legendaries in this game, but I'd probably have to go with Kyurem...specifically White Kyurem. That thing just looks badass.
GEN 6: While Xerneas made a strong impression on me in the TCG, as far as a VG-based Legendaries dream team goes, Yveltal wins flat out. 2 words: OBLIVION WING.</lj-spoiler>
