A personal moment of silence
After catching up on the news, hoping not to find anything worth writing a rant about, I came across a story from yesterday that hit me a bit harder than most...
Keiko, the orca (killer whale) made famous by the movie "Free Willy", died at 27 years old in a fjord off the Norwegian coast from a case of pneumonia.
Now, I know this isn't as tragic as I make it sound...it isn't devistating like my grandpa's passing was. Still, I have a rather higher than normal fondness for dolphins and their like, especially orcas, so despite the fact I didn't care much for the movies Keiko was in, the whale itself was a particular favorite of mine. I'm fairly certain I won't be the only one to miss the playful little guy..
