USPE 38: The Two Queens

xaq_the_aereonI mean, how are we supposed to get the Poni Island Kahuna to take us to the altar, help us summon the Legendary Pokemon, and save the world if Poni Island doesn't have a Kahuna!? ...Well, for now, maybe Hapu can help us find an answer at the Ruins of Hope (though to be honest my hopes certainly feel in ruins at this point).
First, though, Swimmer Derek seems interested in a bout. 'K.
[VS Dragalge]
Ooo. I was seriously considering this as my Poni Island Representative for a while. However, 2 things stopped me:
1) I'm avoiding type-crossovers, and this thing's part-Dragon (crossing with Serana) and part-Poison (crossing with Erinys).
2) Slightly larger issue: It's an Ultra Moon exclusive, so I couldn't catch it on here anyway. XP
The Poison-typing proves to be an issue for Serenity, since it reduces the effectiveness of Moonblast against its Dragon-type and causes her to take a lot of damage from a Sludge Bomb. Sparkling Aria finishes things up nicely, though, and that damage is nothing 3 Sitrus Berries won't take care of in a delicious hurry. ^_^
Right then, on into the Ruins, where we find Mudsdale and Lillie waiting outside...wait, why? She heard that the mystic waters of the Tapu Guardians can wash away any impurities, so if she thinks this can help Nebby, why is she waiting out here while Hapu's clearly inside? It's not that I'm mad you waited for me and all, but this is kinda important! D:
...Aaaand the place is blocked by a sliding block puzzle. What a coincidence that we just so happened to get the Machamp Shove earlier. ... ...Lillie, you clearly weren't listening to me just now. Let mehandle thisrelax in Machamp's arms while it does all the work.
So...shove this one up, that one right and up...BINGO. Now, let's see if we can get Tapu Fini to help Nebby.

"Solgaleo." So that's the name of the Legendary Pokemon we seek in order to get to the world of Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts so we can save Lusamine, huh? Apparently in order to summon it we need to...well, Gladion already kinda went over the whole deal with the Moon and Sun Flutes. Apparently there's a good reason the one we have, the Moon Flute, has the same mark as the lake temple back on Ula'ula Island...that's where it came from. The other is held on a place called Exeggutor Island.
Gee. I wonder what lives there? Anyway, with that we're off to Exeg...uhhh...girls? Weren't we supposed to do something here to help Nebby? Hello???
...Okay, fine, whatever. Back to Seafolk Village, I guess...or I could take a detour up north to see if I can--
A Black Belt blocks my path, telling me I need the kahuna's permission to go that way. Y'know, despite the fact that the island hasn't had a freakin' kahuna for years until about 10 seconds ago.
Grabbing a Totem Sticker off the back of Hapu's granny's house reminds me that Oak's still waiting for me at Heahea Beach. Should've swung by there while Mantine Surfing last night. Oh well, Charizard makes this a quick detour.

Okay, so despite the fact that I was constantly forced out of my higher speeds by endless Sharpedo barrages and couldn't make nearly as many combos as I wanted to, my current high score is less than 2500 off the top.
That is the point value of ONE move combo. I can do this. I am one combo away from taking the top spot on all 4 Mantine Surfing scoreboards.

Alright, time to let the scoreboard tally up and see how I did. I feel like I did a bit better on this one...I think I might have just managed to get past the 58,300 mark. Let's see how--

Apparently the guy living in the house right next to the PMC is the guy who I just bumped off the top spot. He has something he wants to give me for--

Anyway, I nicknamed her Ka Nalu Nalu...which, according to Google Translate, is the Hawaiian translation of "surfing rat." XP

Unsurprisingly, Lillie and Hapu beat me back there. XP Lillie thanks Hapu for her help, and Hapu comments that that's what friends do. D'awww! :D Anyway, seems we have to talk to Mina about getting to Exeggutor Island. I smell a Trial coming on...once she gets over the shock of Hapu becoming Kahuna.
Speaking of which, seems Nanu (y'know, Zombie Cop Kahuna of Ula'ula Island?) is now officially relieved of "handle Poni Island's Grand Trials" duties. Bet he's pleased about that...might even smile again.

Anyway, we tell her about how we need to go find the Sun Flute, and she says we'll need to call in the Chief on that one. On cue, he appears atop a houseboat with a Pelipper at his side. Guess he's in charge of the village and soforth?
