[BANDITS STATUS]
Belfries, Lv 57
Atlas, Lv 55
Nebula, Lv 55
Dogmeat, Lv 55
Iceberg, Lv 54
Tessa, Lv 58
My gear's packed, the Bandits are fresh for the fight, and all that stands before us and ultimate glory is the Champion, the Elite Four, and--
[THUD!!]
Oh right, Clint. I'd actually forgotten about you. Guess he finally beat the last Gym and made his way through Victory Road. Fine, winner takes on the final challenge?
[BRING IT]
[FINAL BATTLE VS. CLINT THE HUMAN WRECKING BALL]
[Round 1: vs. Staraptor]
Took you long enough. Cross Poison nearly one-shots it, while Pluck does nearly nothing before Aerial Ace takes it down.
[Round 2: vs. Heracross]
Bug/Fighting? Aerial Ace should one-shot this one.
[IT DID]
[Round 3: vs. Floatzel]
Nebula takes it on, gets Bit for a little damage, and Thunderbolts it out of the battle.
[Round 4: vs. Rapidash]
While Tessa sounds tempting, she is part-Steel, so I send out Atlas instead. Smart Strike hurts a fair bit, but Drill Run does its duty beautifully. Seriously can't believe I was about to trade this move out.
[Round 5: vs. Torterra]
Dogmeat's up, and Flamethrower takes half its HP...before Earthquake scores a KO. Iceberg subs in and kicks up a hailstorm before wiping Torterra out with an Ice Beam. Sorry Dogmeat.
[Final Round: vs. Snorlax]
I'll leave Iceberg out for now since the snow's still blowing. Wood Hammer does a good bit of damage, while Snorlax Yawns, threatening to put us to sleep next round. However, the hail-bop puts it at about half, suggesting that one more Wood Hammer should do the trick.
[IT DID]
Sorry Clint, but you're gonna have to wait until I'm done.
Right, back over to the Pokecen for a sec.
[SO AS WE WERE SAYING...]
And with that, all that stands before us and ultimate glory is the Elite Four, the Champion, and an Ace Trainer guarding the entryway. He verifies our badges and stands aside.
[HERE WE GO]
Up the first elevator, we come across some kung-fu kid with green hair. This is it, then...
[ELITE FOUR BATTLE ONE: VS. AARON]
[Round 1: vs. Dustox]
Ah, a Bug-user. Aerial Ace takes half its HP in one hit. Bug Buzz takes a whopping 9, and another Aerial Ace ends the bout.
[Round 2: vs. Beautifly]
Aerial Ace is gonna be putting in the work here for now, and scores a one-shot.
[Round 3: vs. Heracross]
Remember how that went a few minutes ago? No diference.
[Round 4: vs. Vespiqueen]
Bug/Flying means Aerial Ace won't be quite as effective here...but it also means Rock moves will hit 4x as hard, so I tag Atlas in. Stone Edge proves my point quite nicely.
[Final Round: vs. Drapion]
Poison/Dark? Odd. Still, this should mean Ground is effective, so I'll let Atlas finish it up. Drapion hits with Earthquake, and while Drill Run would be appropriate, I instead return the favor and flatten it with our own Earthquake.
[KARMIC VICTORY!]
On to the 2nd floor, and we have an old lady in a doctor's coat and a scarf. She seems pleasant. Shame we're gonna have to beat her.
[ELITE FOUR BATTLE TWO: VS. BERTHA]
[Round 1: vs. Quagsire]
Water/Ground. Yuck. Belfries leads off with Toxic to induce major poison, then gets Surfed for some decent damage. After that, I tag in Iceberg, who kicks up a hailstorm and shrugs off a Surf like it was nothing. Quagsire regains some HP from its Leftovers but takes a double-whammy from the poison and hail. Giga Drain then finishes it off.
[Round 2: vs. Sudowoodo]
Rock-type, if I recall, so Water and Steel work nicely. Your turn, Tessa. Scald scours away all its HP in one hit, while the hail continues to do its thing.
[Round 3: vs. Golem]
I leave Tessa out for this one. Earthquake nearly scores a KO, but she shrugs it off. Flash Cannon also puts it to 1...and then the hailstorm scores a double-knockout.
[OOPS?]
[Round 4: vs. Whiscash]
I tag in Iceberg. Wood Hammer forces it to use its Rondo Berry to prevent major damage, but it still gets hit really hard before Bulldozing for nearly nothing, after which the hailstorm ends. Bertha uses a Full Restore to fully recharge it, but Giga Drain takes it all and recharges Iceberg instead.
[THANKS!]
[Final Round: vs. Hippowdon]
Iceberg stays out for this one as Sand Stream kicks up a duststorm. Crunch hurts a bit, while Ice Beam puts it deep in the yellow. Hippowdown Rests to recharge its HP and wakes back up wiht a Chesto Berry, just it time to get Giga Drained for half. It Rests again to recharge its HP once more, and gets Giga Drained again, putting it deep in the red due to a crit. Bertha uses a Full Restore to revitalize and awaken it, and Ice Beam puts it at half again. Crunch hurts a little bit, but I finally get tired of fooling around and Wood Hammer it into the floor.
[SHEESH...]
A Revive and 2 MooMoo Milks and we're all ready to continue to the 3rd floor...oh hey, I remember this guy from Sunyshore! How ya doin', afro man? Let's do this!
[ELITE FOUR BATTLE THREE: VS. FLINT]
[Round 1: vs. Rapidash]
Iron Tail does a little damage, while Cross Poison almost scores a KO with a crit. It also scores Belfries a burn due to Fire Body. Afterwards, Flint withdraws.
[Round 1.5: vs. Steelix]
Belfries shrugs off the burn and blanks with Cross Poison. I tag in Dogmeat, who gets hurt by Iron Tail kinda badly before Flamethrower puts it deep in the red. Another Iron Tail scores a KO and prompts Atlas to take the stage, finishing it off with Drill Run.
[Round 2: vs. Lopunny]
A Normal-type suggests leaving Atlas out. High Jump Kick hurts a bit, but Hammer Arm nearly flattens it. High Jump Kick puts Atlas in the red, but Drill Run does its thing once more.
[Round 3: vs. Rapidash]
This time I'll let Tessa handle it. Flint uses a Full Restore, but Surf is too much for it.
[WIPEOUT!]
[Round 4: vs. Drifblim]
Flying/Ghost prompts me to bring out Nebula. Strength Sap lowers her Attack, but Thunderbolt lowers it to half HP and forces it to use its Sitrus Berry. Will-O-Wisp gives Nebula a burn, and Thunderbolt puts it in the red. Baton Pass forces a tag-out.
[Round 4.5: vs. Infernape]
Infernape gets zapped by Thunderbolt upon tagging in. If memory serves, it's a Fighting/Fire type. Fire Punch hurts pretty bad, but Psychic proves my theory correct. Adios!
[Final Round: vs. Drifblim]
I use a Full Restore to put Nebula back in fighting shape, while Drifblim Minimizes to boost its evasion. Will-O-Wisp gives her a burn again, but Thunderbolt finally ends this bout.
A Revive for Dogmeat and a few Full Restores gets the team ready for the last obstacle before the Champion...violet hair, red suit, glasses...I feel like I should recognize them? Well, I'll make sure they remember me, for certain.
[ELITE FOUR FINAL BATTLE: VS. LUCIAN]
[Round 1: vs. Mr. Mime]
Fairy/Psychic? Against Belfries? I smell a Cross Poison one-shot coming.
[NOT QUITE]
Reflect boosts Mr. Mime's defenses against physical attacks, but Cross Poison scores the two-shot at least.
[Round 2: vs. Alakazam]
Dogmeat takes the front to neutralize the usefulness of its Psychic attacks, then gets in a 6-mon Beat Up for half its HP...huh, that's the first time it's failed to KO, I think. Shock Wave does a fair bit of damage twice in a row, but Shadow Ball scores the KO.
[Round 3: vs. Medicham]
Fighting/Psychic suggests Nebula. Dazzling Gleam nearly one-shots it, while Ice Punch nearly one-shots her. Another Dazzling Gleam and it's done.
[Round 4: vs. Girafarig]
Psychic/Normal? I think Belfries is best for the job...sadly, I fat-thumb it and send in Atlas. Psychic hurts her, while Earthquake doesn't do much. Hoo boy. Psychic hits again and scores the KO. Sorry, my bad. I bring in Belfries for real this time and nail it with X-Scissor, putting it deep in the red. Trick Room then goes off, swapping slow and fast, before Lucian uses a Full Restore. X-Scissor hits and puts Girafarig deep in the yellow. Psychic hits dead air, and X-Scissor takes it out.
[Final Round: vs. Bronzong]
She's hurting, but I tag Dogmeat back in for it. Earthquake goes off, but she hangs in there to fire off a Flamethrower, putting it deep in the red and prompting a Siturs Berry snack. I take a turn for a Full Restore, and Earthquake puts her right back at one. Thankfully, Trick Room wears off, allowing Dogmeat to get in the final blow with Flamethrower.
With that, the Elite Four are defeated. All that remains to do now is put those Leppa Berries, Revives, and Full Restores to use.
[LET'S GO...IS WHAT I'D LIKE TO SAY HERE]
I cut this entry short for a good reason...long story short I rage-quit due to one one of the Champion's 'mons tanking my entire team, restoring its own HP about 10 times, and taking longer to get into the red than ALL FOUR OF THE ELITE FOUR put together...at which point a Full Restore pushed me past my breaking point.
So yeah...I'll let you know later if I give the Bandits another shot at the title, or if this is where their run ends.
