ppe 31: The Not-So-Grand Finale

We already did a write-up of the Elite Four, and with the Bandits being stronger, this went more or less the same albeit more in my favor, so...quick summary:

AARON: Soloed by Dogmeat via Flamethrower until Drapion, then Atlas squashed it with Earthquake.
BERTHA: Soloed by Iceberg until Golem one-shot her. Bitch. Tessa took over and exacted revenge.
FLINT: Atlas took out Lopunny, Tessa one-shot the rest until Infernape one-shot her with Close Combat. Stupid Steel-typing. Nebula extracted vengeance via Psychic. Stupid Focus Sash kept it from being a one-shot, but he wasted a Full Restore only to get one-shot afterwards. Get lost, Flint.
LUCIAN: Belfries one-shots Mr. Mime again, Dogmeat takes forever to kill Alakazam because he keeps using Full Restores, Nebula one-shots Medicham with Moonblast, and Belfries almost beats Girafarig until Psychic downs her, leaving Dogmeat to finish it up. Bronzong one-shots her with Earthquake, so Atlas takes over and Hammer Arms the fucker into submission until Earthquake does her in too and Tessa FINALLY KILLS THE MOTHERFUCKER WITH SCALD.

[BANDITS STATUS]
They all gained 1 level, hitting Lv 67. Not quite the gains I expected, but I'll take it. My confidence took a bit of a hit after Lucian soloed half my team, but I'm ready for this. I managed to hold my own against her for the most part last time when my team was much weaker.

I move Nebula to the front, and move on to face the Champion once more. I don't feel any thrill at the prospect of beating her...at this point, I'm simply dealing with something that pissed me off.

Go time, bitch.

[FINAL BATTLE: VS. CHAMPION CYNTHIA]
[Round 1: vs. Spiritomb]
Moonblast nearly one-shots it and weakens its Special Attack, while prompting its Sitrus Berry. Shadow Ball hurts a bit, but another Moonblast seals the deal.

[Round 2: vs. Roserade]
Belfries tags in to minimize the usefulness of its Sludge Bomb, and Air Slashes it for about 2/3. Shadow Ball does a little damage, an another Air Slash puts it down.

[Round 3: vs. that fucking Milotic]
STRAP IN, FOLKS, THIS ONE COULD TAKE A WHILE. Iceberg Giga Drains, it Recovers, Wood Hammer doesn't do as much as it could due to Marvel Scale boosting its Defense after Flame Orb burned it, and...SHE WITHDREW IT!?

[Round 3.5: vs. Lucario]
Wood Hammer hits it for about half. I use a Full Restore on Nebula and lose Iceberg to THAT FUCKING AURA SPHERE. Nebula tags in, almost dies to Flash Cannon, and finishes it with Moonblast. THANK GOD.

[Round 4: vs. Gastrodon]
I revive Iceberg and lose Nebula to Rock Tomb. Iceberg comes back and kicks up another hailstorm, then Giga Drains Gastradon's whole HP away. GOOD, FUCK IT.

[Round 5: vs. that cowardly-ass Milotic]
LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN, SHALL WE? Ice Beam doesn't do much to her, and Wood Hammer flattens it. WORKS FOR ME!

[FINAL ROUND: VS. GARCHOMP]
Iceberg stays on board. Garchomp uses Swords Dance to boost its Attack...and Blizzard goes off. Its Yache Berry lessens the damage but it's still in the red. Cynthia uses a Full Restore. Blizzard strikes again.

FUCKING.

FINALLY.

Normally this would be a moment of celebration, something makes you feel fully accomplished...but not for me. The frustration this woman's given me the past few days sapped all the joy out of this win.

Still, I'll take it. Jetty and the Bandits earned their victory here.

That being said...whatever postgame content there is, I have zero interest in it. I am done with this game.

Maybe. I do have my copy already, but this has kinda burned me out on Pokemon for a bit.

Why not, I started up a new file yesterday when I was about to rage-quit this game entirely.
