If this is how things are heading, I only pray that the gods have mercy on America and destroy it before it destroys itself. o_o
...That and I hope I have ample time to get the hell out of here before then.

Sanity is not a requirement to be Christian, which can lead to some sad cases. In any case, the person writing this article misunderstands the principle under which the statement "The government's authority comes from God" can be said.
All authority comes from God. Christians are enjoined to obey the laws of a government for that reason- it is a worldy caretaker expressing a version of God's authority. God will use it to His own ends, and that does not require a Godly man at the helm.
I have seen no genuine signs of the megalomania implied in this article in any of the actual cabinet positions and higher authorities of this country. Believing that all of the religious right somehow follows an agenda set by Pat Robertson (of all people) suggests a lack of contact with real people in said group.
This "Dominionism" is a spectre, a boogeyman. I spend a LOT of time on various right-wing blogs, talking to other Christians, and happen to be one myself. I've never heard of it before seeing this article, which is obviously published from somebody on the outside that probably doesn't bother to speak to any ordinary church-goers, much less a devoted follower of Christ. Pat Robertson does have good points, but, as the old saying goes, a stopped clock is right two times a day. To suggest that he's anything of a major force in politics is to turn the Republican party into a characture of its real self.
