xaq_the_aereonFinished up the replay of Breath of Fire 3 a few days ago.
Party for the final battle against Myria: Ryu (Lv 42), Rei (Lv 39), and just for the hell of it, Peco (Lv 35...and probably the most dangerous character of the bunch).
Ran into a small snag at first since I put the party in Chain formation (which hurts their Defense a bit, but gives everyone the same Agility as the lead character...whether they're faster or slower than anyone else), and accidentally put Ryu there. Instead of Rei's blinding-quick 102, I got Ryu's sluggish 12. (Coulda been worse, though...Peco had a whopping -ZERO.-)
Wasn't much of an issue, though. Myria's attacks weren't much use against the party, especially with the huge number of Whales I had in my inventory. (Yes. Whales. You catch them in the fishing mini-game at the last fishing spot in the game. They have the same effect as Moon Tears: Party regains full HP and status. For you Final Fantasy-types, think X-Potions and Remedies for everyone. This was just a nice bonus to attaining "THE FISH" fishing rank. :] ) Peco and Kaiser-Ryu (Infinity+Trance+Radiance genes renders the full-powered Kaiser form controllable. VERY nice. :] ) were on the offense, with Ryu's Kaiser Breath and Peco's Shadowwalk (yeah, I gave Peco the auto-crit move) each dishing out about 1800 damage a piece (I say again, THE ONION OF TOTAL DEVASTATION!), while Rei just kept everyone going, recharging HP and Kaiser-Ryu's AP when necessary.
Went surprisingly smoother than my usual strategy against her (Ryu going into Myrmidon form, Rei going Weretiger, and the 3rd party member using Influence on round 1 and burning through HP/AP restoratives for the whole fight until they inevitably get squashed in round 6-8...guess I did a better job on my characters this go-round.), but anyway...yeah. Done with BoF3. Got the Clear Game file, got the ultimate fishing gear (the Master Rod and the Ding Frog lures...yeah, the game calls them King Frogs when you first get them, but in your inventory, they're Ding Frogs.) and the Fountain Pen (no more Skill Ink for transferring skills around! YAAAY!!! ...Too late.), and now...
