Gamecube controller went kaput the other day. (Mad Katz one, so I'm kinda surprised it lasted the 4 years I had it.)
First, checked out AC, the local "we got everything" store. Closest thing they had was a children's sports video game thing that was made to look very similar to the Nintendo Wii...you know, basically some cheap knock-off for the parents to buy their 6-year-old to shut him up for a few days around Christmas time until he realizes that the video game he spent 6 months of allowance on doesn't fit into what only -looked- like a CD slot. XP
Okay, so no Gamecube controllers in Nome (no other place in town sells video game stuff). Not surprised at all. So, I went home and checked out Wal-Mart.com to try and find a replacement...no dice. Then, when Dad went to Anchorage for the weekend to pick a few things up, I asked him to pick one up. Wal-Mart, Target, even Gamestop...nada.
At this point, I'm getting a bit frustrated.
Spent all day today checking various sites to try and find one...finally found one on Amazon. Ordered, put in the address...
"Sorry, we can't ship to PO boxes."
...Okay, stay cool, no problem, just put in my street address instead. We get mail through that just fine....
"Sorry, that street name appears to be invalid."
....Calm down, calm down Will, after all, that's perfectly understandable, considering the street name is "Round the Clock" (no St, Rd, Ave, Cir, Pkwy, Blvd, or anything like that...just "Round the Clock". Which, for the record, is intersected by Fore & Aft and Around the Bend....Yeah, Nome has weird street names.)...
Still, how freakin' hard can it be to find a controller!? :[
