xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Darius)
Well, that was a boneheaded blunder on my part last night.......came home from the shopette with a gallon of water, and saw some of my friends playing freestyle volleyball (translation: They were smacking a volleyball around with no net, rules, teams, or what have you.), so, wanting to be more social, I drop all my stuff...wallet, cell phone, and water jug...off in a little pile by their little piles and join in.

About half an hour later I pick up my stuff and head back to my room.

Except for the cell phone, which I found around 11:30 this afternoon still face-down in the ever-so-moist grass, soaked from the humidity and the storm that rolled through last night.

And, surprise surprise! IT'S DEAD. After all the times I held myself back from destroying it for cutting out on me so often, it goes and dies on me on its own, depriving me of the right of being its executioner. Dammit!

Oh well, at least I had insurance on it...guy who I bought it from at the Cingular store told me to call an 800 number (on a land-line phone) and they'd get it replaced for about 50-75 bucks....which won't be too bad at all if I can get them to put the charge on my phone bill, since I've still got a little over a hundred bucks of credit due to the LAST phone fiasco I had.

My only regrets are that
A) I didn't get to destroy it myself.
and B) I can't get all my stored numbers off of it now. @%)(*&!

...Oh, and as long as I'm on the subject, tomorrow the barracks have scheduled a temporary phone disconnection to reroute some phone lines so they can get the TV CABLE installed, so I might not be all that contactable tomorrow.
