Post Airshow Hinjinx
24 May 2005 19:39Well, the Air Show this past weekend was a blast, although my legs were sore as hell from spending a totally of 27 hours standing with minimal opportunities to sit down, and I am now entirely sick of even the THOUGHT of pouring anyone a drink ever again..
The Thunderbirds were quite awesome, though. For those of you who don't know, they're an aerial performance group much like the better-known Blue Angels and lesser-known Snowbirds, although a bit cooler since they put their shows to a mixed music track for each stunt. The highlight of their performance on both days was when they did a large formation spin (I swear, they made it look like the 3 jets were glued together) to the infamous "Jaws" theme. You know......duuuuuunnnnnnnn DUHN. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuun DUHN. Dun duhn dun duhn dun duhn dun duhn... On the first day when I saw that, I was just standing there watching, in awe at their skill, but stupified as all hell.
---
"That's weird. Why in the hell would they choose THAT song for thi--"
******BOOOM!!!!***** *spills drink all over himself* "O_O!!!!! WTF?!?!?!!"
---
At this point Thunderbird 4 shoots past from the left, only a few hundred feet from the crowd, going well beyond Mach 1, and the music stops to be replaced with a rap track whose lyrics could be summed up as "HA! GOTCHA!"
MOST. HILARIOUS. THING. EVER. XD
And the sad part? Sunday I was keeping my eyes open for it, not wanting to get caught off guard again.....and guess which stunt it was where I stupidly let my guard down for a moment.
Yep, I got GOTCHA!'d again. At least I had the subconcious sense to put my drink down.
ANYWAY, ON TO TODAY! (Since nothing really happened yesterday)
Finally found a spot where I can put my ecchier sketches online and show them to people without them having to sign up for anything. Thanks, Idran.
Also got down to Springfield Mall for a while and picked up the two new Yu-Gi-Oh structure decks, Ocean's Fury and Blaze of Destruction. I will say one thing about them:
LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME.
Still, some of the stuff in them will help me get a few of my other, lesser-used decks up to snuff, plus I can swap a few of my rare cards out of the decks with their non-rare reprints from these and leave myself with more trading/selling potential. WHEE! :D
Gonna have to sell off a few of these full-common containers I've got one day....hmm.
Oh yeah! I am now officially on the last stretch of my road away from Cingular! Went out and signed up with T-Mobile earlier today, getting a plan that's
A) Less expensive
B) Got more minutes
C) Also got Mobile-To-Mobile
And otherwise just plain better. UP YOURS, CINGULAR! :D
