I need to get off this base.

I need to go see Kristen, Jason, Nelly, and the rest of my friends around here at least one last time before I leave the area.

I'm pretty sure I need to apologize to Nelly for a few things. Kristen too.

I also need to thank them both for a few things.

...I definitely need to figure out what those "few things" in both cases are.

I need to let go of these lingering romantic feelings I have for them. Even if those relationships had any chance of reblossoming, I would hate myself if I started again only to have it be forcibly ended when I transfer.

I definitely need to tone down the fantasizing. That's starting to get a bit out of hand.

I probably need to quit thinking out loud before I say something I'll regret anyone hearing/reading.

I officially have NO luck with vehicles. First the Camaro falls apart, now it looks like my scooter's ready to call it quits on me.

Problems that it has had recently:

-Loss of 10 MPH off top speed (from 50 to 40).
-High-pitch squeal when throttling engine, scraping/scratching when throttle is let off.
-REAL WHEEL SEIZED UP ENTIRELY WHILE BACKING UP. Managed to get that problem taken care of somehow, but now problem #2 is worse.
-After unscrewing plub to drain oil from engine, got a whole lot of NOTHING. No oil drained out whatsoever.



It'll still run thankfully, so I might be able to get it over to Clinton Cycles (which is THANKFULLY right outside the base!) tomorrow and see if they can help, be it via repair or...*whimper* trade-in.

Somewhat amusing/embarassing moment at work today.

Had an antenna drive that needed to be taken to the AWP (Awaiting Workable Parts) Locker this morning, so I went ahead bubble-wrapped/transported it down there.

While I was waiting for Shaun, the guy in charge of assigning storage space for gear, to get done with someone else, I couldn't help but notice a couple of the girls down there giggling, and it was obvious to me that I was the butt of whatever joke was there. So, naturally, I ask what's so funny.

Turns out I was cradling the antenna drive like a baby and didn't even realize it. o.o;; What the hell brought THAT on!?

Now that I'm done being pissy and the movie's over...

Finally found out today what was wrong with my scooter, in a very strange way. How did I find out? Someone else had an accident.

Allow me to elaborate. This stupid blonde lady (I shall explain the well-deserved insult in a bit, so don't go biting my head off yet) got slammed into from behind on a bridge by the Metro Station I was going home from. Said bridge, under repairs, is down to 1 lane. This lady was fine, her car was fine, everything was AOK aside from some visual damage. She should've moved the car off out of the middle of the entrance to the bridge's only lane to the curb not 100 feet away.

Note my use of SHOULD HAVE. What did she do instead? SAT THERE LIKE A DAMNED IDIOT. She was apparently afraid the cops would arrest her for leaving the scene of an accident by moving her car despite it being within spitting distance. Literally. Seriously, I tested that theory while clearing my throat.

So how this accident revealed to me what was wrong with my scooter? Easy...I put my light-weight 2-wheeled vehicle's huge advantage to use: I shut it off, hopped off, and walked it along the bridge's sidewalk. HA HA, SUCKERS.

As I walked, I noticed a familiar clunking noise...the same one I hear while driving. That's when the pieces started falling together...

I have something loose in my back tire. An easy fix. Hopefully.

Just to take my mind off the day earlier, I decided to spend an hour or two this afternoon reading a bit of "The Lucky Ones" again. This was about around 4 PM.

First one on the "definitely happening" list? The very one I'm going to in a few months.

Good gods but I could not stop laughing this afternoon.
