...Which is a bit pathetic considering I bought a copy about 2 weeks after it came out. I just recently got around to popping it in.
In any case, I'm now officially kicking myself for the delay, because this game is absolutely epic. Some folks have criticized the idea of combining the realistic graphics of Twilight Princess with the cel-shading graphics of Wind Waker, but I cannot emphasize just how perfectly they work together, especially in this game. It just plain looks right.
One thing I especially like is the Goddess Sword, your primary weapon for the first half of the game, for one simple reason...it is simply beautiful.
Probably my favorite aspect of it, however, is the enhancement mechanic. With the proper specialty items, which range from a slew of species of insects to a variety of rare gems and metallic ores, you can get a variety of items improved to forms greater than their original. Each of the 3 styles of shields you can buy from the bazaar can be made to have greater durability, the net you use to catch the insects can be made MUCH bigger (by the way, DO THIS ASAP), and even the basic Healing Potion can be improved to such an extent that it goes from healing 6 hearts 1 time to giving you a full recharge twice.
Some of the items you use for this process, however, are a bit difficult to come by, which led to the circumstances that inspired this whole post...Dad wanted to know if I was interested in going out somewhere, and I actually caught myself saying....
"Sorry, I'm a little busy hunting tumbleweeds."
His reaction was just as confused as yours likely is. But yes, one of the items you can collect to improve some of your items is tumbleweeds. How these go about making a net bigger or a bow into a divine weapon is beyond me, but...whatever.
