Not so much argh anymore.

Well, the path to college is clear, but I've still got a number of bumps to smooth out, and about a month to do it in.

-The housing department has yet to get back to me about the status of my application. They acknowledged getting it but haven't done jack shit since. It's been 2 weeks, I've emailed them time and again, and still the "prompt response" they promised has yet to arrive. I'm starting to think I may just have to rent an apartment off-campus. Note to self: get on the horn with them about that tomorrow. Okay, so the problem there is simply a matter of backlog; apparently a lot more people are applying for housing than I figured. They said they'd get back to me if anything became available, but for now they recommend I look into off-campus housing. Nothing I can't manage; last time I went to college I had a 40-minute commute.

-I've only been able to get scheduled for 2 of the 4 courses I'm supposed to be taking this semester. One requires a placement exam which I'm supposed to take at the campus they have here in Nome, but the proctor for those exams is out until next week...the other one I'm supposed to take only has one classtime available (as opposed to the 28 gadzillion the other one does), and it's already clear full, so I'm SOL on that...that'll have to wait for another semester, I guess. For now I guess I'll just have to fit something else in. I'd rather not just be taking 2 courses this semester...on top of how it'd effect the VA benefit payments, I've had too much free time of late as it is! At LEAST gimme 2 classes a day here for crap's sake! D: Okay, so after getting off the horn with someone at the college, apparently the syllabus I've been using, while showing all the courses I have to take, only shows them in a -suggested- order. So, to take care of the downtime, I'm taking the "History of Aviation" class it suggested for next semester. Once the class below gets lined up, that'll give me 4 courses for the semester, which is about what I want.

-While on the subject of that class I need a placement test for, while I did mention there's about a bazillion different times in the week you can take it, including off-campus locales...who'd have thought "Written Forms of Communication" would be so vital these days...there's only so many I can choose from that don't conflict with my schedule. Last week I had 5 timeslots to choose from. Checking just now I find 2 of those have filled up. This keeps up I may be locked out of another required course. If it happens, it happens, and I'll just go for another course from next semester.

To help take my mind of this BS and the nerves I always get in the weeks before a big move like this, I've been working on another MLP video; more specifically, a full-song expansion of the "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego" scene from my first video. I've been at that for about 2 weeks now, and so far I've....gotten exactly as far as the scene in ALOHA gets to. I redid those scenes with higher quality video no prob, but now I've hit a mental block on what video segments to go with the remaining verses. (EDIT UPDATE: Sadly, still kinda stumped here. :[ )



EDIT UPDATE: Okay, so situation not quite so bitchiness-inducing as it was last night...that's a relief.
