A few days ago, my dad asked me to check the 'net to see if I could find him a clamshell bucket. Didn't have to be at full size or metal, he just wanted one to use for reference.
Found one on eBay for $40, reading the dimensions as 1.5 feet square by 9 inches tall...just about the dimensions dad was looking for. So, we went ahead and ordered it. Today, it arrived in the mail.
Found out the hard way that I mixed up 1.5' x 1.5' x 3/4', which would have been the correct notation for the dimensions I thought, and 1.5" x 1.5" x 3/4" ....basically, I mixed up the notations for "foot" and "inch", which would explain why I dropped $40 on something that, instead of being able to connect to the front end of a classic sandbox toy, fits in the palm of my hand and is made for die-cast model toys.
How appropriate that this revelation should happen on today of all days.
