Okay, so apparently it slipped my mind to mention the fact that my family once again took a weekend vacation to Vegas (which we are now one airplane away from being done with)...oh well, guess I can give some of the fun details in any case.
THURSDAY:
-Given my inability to sleep on planes and our flights from Nome to Sin City going from 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM, I spent a better part of that day feeling completely blitzed...thankfully, there was nothing planned for that day, so I just crashed for a better part of the day.
-Gaming Funds ($300 I took along and set aside specifically for gambling, so as to keep myself out of trouble without limiting myself on the fun) : $312.50/300 (got bored/zonked at the car rental place, hit up a slot machine, and won $18.50 after putting $6 in. Yaaay.)
FRIDAY:
-Mom and I hit up Boulevard Mall in the morning. Found a copy of Final Fantasy XIII on PS3...surprised the hell out of me, since I thought it was only for the 360. Saved me the money of buying a new console, at least!
-Went to see Blue Man Group again. Still awesome, and this time we were literally inches away from the Poncho Section (so named because with all the water n' stuff flying around on the stage, you kinda need one there.) Definitely worth the repeat visit. :D
Gaming Funds: $140/300 (Note to self: Either learn how to play Blackjack properly or don't play at all.)
SATURDAY:
-Spent most of the day wandering the Strip, checking out the Luxor (love that place), swinging buy New York New York to pick up tickets for that night, and then getting a good workout going down to Bally's (because the ditz at the ticket counter gave me completely wrong directions to the monorail!) to catch the shuttle back to the Rio. Legs still sore form that. D:
-Had time to kill, so I went to see Mac King again. Still hilarious. High points of the show involved 2 of the audience participants:
--A teacher who screwed up the "pick a card and put your name on it" part of a trick by putting her name on the back.
--A 9-year-old girl who, after helping Mac check the tent he'd brought on stage to make sure there was nothing in it and hearing him say "So, no naked showgirls in there?" replied "...You're a little too old for me."
-Whole family caught Cirque du Soliel's "Zumanity", which, while just as erotic as I expected (I was seriously considering not going, since the mental concept of "watching porn with my parents" was just GYRRNNNNNNNGHSFSDFJKLSDFLKSQCTRLALTDEL), was 10x as awesome and 1000x as hilarious as I'd figured. Definitely gonna have to catch another one of their shows next year (preferably Criss Angel: Believe...wasn't showing this weekend, so I lose again.)...may go to see that one again, but definitely with different company.
-Realized I'd missed the premiere of the new season of Doctor Who. DAMMIT. D:
-Gaming Funds: $420/300. Remember that lucky Roulette gambit I made last year to recoup my losses? Same table, same basic idea, better payoff (bet on it hitting the 3rd 12-number section of the board, between 25 and 36. It hit 25. BANG!).
SUNDAY:
-Caught the musical production of The Lion King at Mandalay Bay. Let me put it this way:
BEST. PART. OF. THE. TRIP.
Calling that show "awesome" does not do it justice...hell, words don't do it justice. If you ever get a chance to see it, do it.
-Got ready to go home. :[
-Gaming Funds FINAL TOTAL: $500/300. *insert Sonic the Hedgehog "Chaos Emerald Get" tune here* Tried playing Roulette the way most of the folks there do, putting little bets on various parts of the board and hoping one of them hits, for a little while...lost horribly. Went back to my usual "go for broke on something with a small payoff" routine, came back quite nicely. And, once again, wound up being the only one of us who came back home ahead. Bwahahaha.
TODAY:
-4:30 AM wake-up call. EPIC NOT-FUN, especially considering I never adjusted to the time zone difference and, as such, it felt like 3:30.
-Once again, no sleep on the plane...still, sleep dep doesn't leave me nearly as zonked as trying to stay up way too late does, so I'm good for now.
LATER TONIGHT:
-Get home, get settled, go to sleep.
TOMORROW:
-Who knows?
Well, that pretty well sums up the trip.
In any case, flight's coming in, so I need to get ready to go. Allons-y!
