Partway through my dreams last night, they shifted to a planned trip at the end of the month where I'm heading down to Anchorage for a weekend.
I get off the plane, head over to the hotel, and check in. The receptionist leaves me thinking I made a good choice of hotels, as they have quite a generously-sized welcome package. A couple of DVDs, a new pair of shoes, a nice suit, and some grab-bags full of other stuff! Holding it all as best I can, I proceed to my room up on the 14th floor (making a note to go with a lower floor next time, what with all these freebies.)
It's after I set it all on the bed and start looking at it that I start to realize a few things. For one, the shoes and suit have blood on them. The grab-bags' contents are all sealed in evidence bags. The DVDs? Nothing but police interrogations and video-journals of events in the life of...for lack of any actual ID, I'll call the man in all the DVDs "Joe."
Inside of one of the DVD cases is a note, explaining that Joe, a friend of the hotel manager, has been found guilty of murder. However, the trial was rigged against him by a local crime lord, as all of the evidence I have on hand will show...provided someone, apparently me, can figure it all out.
The note also mentions that the manager is...quite insistent on me proving Joe's innocence, as I have somehow been locked into my own hotel room and won't be let out until I do this.
Or until I wake up, which happened a moment later. Huh.
