Had a hankering for baking this morning, found a recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies, and figured, "What the hey?"

Recipe as I jotted it down on my iPod:
3/4c sugar
1/4c brown sugar, packed
1/2c soft butter or margarine
1/2tsp vainilla
1 egg
3/4c flour
1/2tsp baking soda
1/2tsp cinnamon
1/4tsp salt
1 1/2c oats
1/2c raisins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Spray cookie sheet with nonstick spray or cover with parchment paper (I opted the latter)
Mix sugar, brown sugar, and butter; beat until light & fluffy
Add vanilla & egg, blend well
Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; blend well
Stir in raisins and oats
*Drop rounded tsp-fuls 2in apart on sheet
Bake 7-10min or until edges are light golden brown
Cool 1 minute, remove from sheet.

I marked that one line with an asterisk for a particular reason: I goofed on that point. The amount I made would have probably made about 3-4 dozen cookie-sized cookies had I gone with teaspoon-sized globs of dough...rather than tablespoon-sized.

The end result: 18 gargantuan bits of deliciousness.

Well, 15 at this point. :]

In other news, my TV (the one that spent the last 5 years as the living room TV in the old house) died 2 days ago; power supply fault.
Its replacement is working just fine, and as an added bonus, I found a beautiful little docking station for my iPod. Excellent sound quality, plus the color on it just blends in perfectly with the wood decor in here.

What a fantastic cooking icon :) I don't have one I use on my own posts, but this one describes their general mood pretty accurately.

After making various different recipes for types of biscuits, I've learned to be very conservative with spooning the dough out - that way, you get marginally healthier sizes that last in the house for longer :) One recipe regularly achieves fifty biscuits even though it doesn't seem to use a huge amount of raw materials.

Thanks. Doesn't hurt that Kirby's pretty awesome to boot. :]

Reviews on the cookies are in as well: they were delicious.

Tomorrow, I think I'll try my luck with some good ol'-fashioned chocolate chip cookies.
