That's become a common thing for me the past few days. You see, I've developed what some of my friends say is a slightly dangerous habit: I'll walk around with my eyes shut. I'm not just talking around this tiny-ass room, mind you...earlier today I made a trek from the galley, which is roughly 4 blocks away, back to my room. Only ran into a wall/tree/car/etc 11 times, too.
It's a rather remarkable sensation, however...even when I know there's a balcony about 8 steps in front of me, when I get about 6 steps out and start groping around for it, I feel as though I'm about to fall off a cliff. Going up a flight of stairs using the feel of the guide rail and the shifting of the brightness and wind direction is absolutely weird. But walking along a long, silent road with nothing but nature around you, and only being able to hear and feel it....when you take the ugly sight of this base away, it really is rather amazing.
...Dunno what gave me the inclination to do it, though, but I'm rather liking it, even if it does scare me to death while I'm doing it. :D
