A rude awakening in every sense of the term.

Got woken up by the phone ringing at 5:30 AM this morning. Not wanting to have the folks get bothered by it, I went ahead and got up to answer it...turns out they were both already up, as it was Mom on the other end of the line. Apparently Dad had gone to the emergency room due to a sudden, inexplicable blood pressure spike (somewhere in the 240/?? range I believe) at some point last night.

Seems he's okay now, aside from getting no sleep whatsoever, but still, that was a scare we all could have done without. :[
