Good -grief.- O_o
A few days ago the National Weather Service gave us a heads-up about a blizzard that was supposed to hit today.
They were right. Holy crap they were right. Second and third flights today were cancelled, and the house has been getting bombarded by the winds...so badly that some of the siding's come off and the door to the garage blew open...said garage now has a fair amount of snow inside it. To keep the door from opening again, we had to take advantage of its incompleteness by screwing a 2x4 over it to hold it shut. While this does mean that getting to our vehicles currently requires a screwdriver and a few minutes of manual labor, though, I doubt I'm going anywhere for a few days. Whole town's pretty much shut down, and we've got sufficient supplies to last that long
Work's being quite understanding about things, though, and even went so far as to set up a call-in to make sure we're all still okay. ...Why they scheduled the next check-up on us for 4 hours from now (as in 4 AM) I have no freaking clue, but oh well. As badly as this wind's whipping up noise, not to mention given how much this kind of stuff honestly just spooks me, odds are I'll be awake for it.
Well, we'll see how the next few days pan out. Dad's gonna catch hell from us when he gets home, though...he flew out of here (albeit for medical purposes) yesterday and will dodge most of, if not all, this crap. Lucky. :b

Weather's still bad enough that no flights are coming in today, and the roads are pretty much solid ice, but the worst of it has apparently passed.
