xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Default)

A Hatoful beakthrough!

Err, BREAKthrough, breakthrough.

Apparently the choice of beans for Legumentine's doesn't have any impact on the ending itself; instead, it simply dictates which of 2 possible scenes with each bird you see.

Choose the one they like, you get the better (and/or more hilarious) scene; choose anything else, you get the lesser scene.

On a side note, I'm now caught up with [livejournal.com profile] kjorteo's playthroughs, with only Nageki and BBL endings to go.

Now I just have to decide if I want to get Nageki's ending now and watch the next LiveStream with prior knowledge to what everyone else will have dumped on their heads, or take the mindblows and hearttugs with everyone else. Honestly a bit of a toss-up.

I got into this game in the first place because the Angie Gallant LP thread is so epic. I read the entire thread for the demo and it was one of the most entertaining reads I've had in ages. When the full version came out, I ran to its thread as soon as I knew there was one, but ... about two or three pages in (basically right around when Himnesia appeared in Anghel's route) I suddenly realized that a line in my head had subtly been crossed from "this thread is amazing, I must read it" to "this game is amazing, I must avoid the thread because SPOILERS." I kind of wish I had come to that realization before I knew about Himnesia, because being blindsided by that would have been the most amazing thing ever, but ... I'm at least glad that I only know a very small handful of isolated tidbits about BBL, and am excited to see what happens when I get to it.

Anyway, I mention all of this because I actually am totally okay with being on the receiving end of that treatment, if that's what you want. If the game wasn't incredible enough for the "this LP is awesome but I just have to see and experience this part for myself" reaction to exist, then I wouldn't have stopped the Angie Gallant thread and picked up my own copy. Of course, if you'd rather experience the rest of the game with us (and if you're not late to the stream or something,) that's fine, too! (And actually kind of flattering.) I totally understand, either way.

(For what it's worth, I know the basic gist of what's coming in Library Bird's route, thanks to the Angie Gallant thread. Of course, there is still room for surprise in certain details she leaves out as she sort of skims it overall--I knew the BLASTER! thing was coming but no one ever mentioned anything about Mr. Fava Bean, for example.)

Also, thanks for that Legumentine's info!

I made it a point to explore that particular bit of the game in detail last night. I found Anghel's reaction to Bitter Black Beans to be particularly interesting.

I didn't get around to checking the effect of Calm Corn on Kazuaki, though...I was somewhat afraid of causing him to slip into a catatonic state.
