Before my dad went to Anchorage for surgery (quick update on that: he can't quite lift his arm up all the way yet, but all in all he's recovered nicely), I had very minimal exposure to, or interest in, the Portal series, mostly due to the first game inducing enough motion sickness in me to making going past test chamber 4 impossible for me. (Apparently the simple inclusion of a controller makes the PS3 version of the sequel much more manageable!)

As such, it never really crossed my mind any kind of ways during all the time we spent building this new house.

This mentality has clearly changed. After getting the last piece of it in place in the new garage, I immediately realized just how good a portal surface drywall would make.

Huh.

Whenever I was playing through one of the PS2 Prince of Persia games, all I could see when I looked above eye level outside was flagpole to column to beam to column to roof to roof to wire to flagpole...
