HOW THINGS WERE PLANNED FOR THE BIG MOVE:
-Get my car ready to go on the 14th (Northern Air Cargo requires stuff be ready to go about a week in advance to ensure they have availability for it on the requested shipping date), fly down with it (on a commercial airliner, of course) on the 20th, get moved into my new apartment, spend the week before classes start on the 27th getting things set up.
HOW THINGS ARE NOW LOOKING:
-Went to view the apartment complex I'll be moving into today, and found out that the one I'll be moving into is currently occupied, and the occupant won't be moving out until the end of the month, meaning I won't be able to move in until the first of September. I need to be down here on the 24th for new student orientation, so basically instead of a week prior to class where I can freely set stuff up, I now have the first week of class where I'm probably going to be living out of a hotel, then spending the following weekend trying to get myself situated.

UPDATE: Spanner removed; we were able to find a little B&B called the Care Cottage; not the Hilton, but getting a (cozy looking) bed, TV, and wi-fi for the week for only $200 suits me just fine. Sadly, this is apparently no longer an option; the owner passed away recently, and with nobody else to run the establishment it was shut down. :[
