xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Default)

Side-effects of streaming pigeons may include...

At some point in the streaming of Anghel's route that Team Hatoful did yesterday, someone brought an Anghelism up as "the next Rhapsody of Feathers album."

Not my most ambitious effort, but the cover of the "Absolute Zero" manga was just too perfect for this.

Does "aveskellar" actually mean anything? Googling it turns up absolutely nothing except Hatoful references, as if Moa and/or Nazerine just felt like making up an entire word and presenting it without explanation.

You do realize that question is essentially trying to make sense of some aspect of Anghel, right?

Well, yeah, but ...

...

okay, I'm sorry. :(

It's okay, just pointing out the absurdity of the question. :b

I have to be proud that I am the second Google result for it! (And the first, provided you misspell it like I did).

I think it was [livejournal.com profile] ravenworks that suggested to me the only conceivable thing it might be was a misspelling of "avascular", a possible mistranslation with the intent to indicate that something was undead (as the word means... not related to blood)... but imagining what this game is thinking at any time is a dangerous road to go down.

But ... whatever it is, it at least has to be a noun. It can't be an adjective modifying something else, because it itself already has the "of Chaos" attached to it.

I almost want to say it's a compound word trick--Aves ... Kellar? Bird-killer? It wouldn't be past Anghel to freak out and call a random food vendor that. However, A) "kellar" still isn't a word in any language of which I know, B) going off some weird sounds-like thing like that would be a stretch even by "Operation Hatoful" standards, and C) if you already have a bird-killer, one would think that having a chaotic one would be somewhat redundant.

I just look at Anghel from a Lewis Carroll perspective; living in his own J-RPG wonderland, dragging those in his immediate vicinity down the rabbit hole, looking at festival vendors like they're frumious Bandersnatches..

..

..

..

That makes way too much sense, even for this.

Anyway, the point I was getting at before the mental image of Anghel in Alice's garb took hold of my brain is that "Aveskellar" may not, in fact, be an actual word at all; it could be something Moa/Nazerine came up with on the fly, like half the lyrics of The Jabberwock.

This is the best one yet :) It works perfectly as fantasy metal artwork, especially with that sword.
