Just got a phone call from the landlord of the apartment complex I was looking to move into.

Apparently, due to credit reasons or whatever, my application was denied. So now I'm all packed up, ready to move, ready to start college....

And I have nowhere to move to.



Now what.


UPDATE: Well, now we know EXACTLY why my application was denied...the credit unions apparently all think I'm still in the Navy. According to my TransUnion report, my address of record is with HSC-84!

Definitely contact the college and see if they can arrange something temporary, quickly...

Like I said, I failed the credit check...which, according to my mother, is because I've never had a lease, mortgage, or anything to give me any kind of a credit rating.

Agh. I've had that as well, even after six years in this country - you somehow have to prove your credit worthiness by being in sufficient debt...

Easy way to build credit is to get a credit card and only use it for like a $20 cash advance every month, and promptly pay that off. No overly fast, but it gives you a good credit history.

Apparently that's not the issue...in fact, after checking with all 3 of the credit unions, apparently I have an overall average score of 798, including a lowball of 771 from Experian.

Either the address fubar mentioned in the edit is the issue, or these guys just plain don't want me to have their apartment. D:
