xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Ryouta)

A bit of solace to cap off the day.

Between a small mountain of homework and a fair bit of frustration with the local Ford dealer not getting the maintenance on my Explorer done like they were supposed to (all based on recalls Ford made a few years back; I haven't been able to get those done until recently due to no certified Ford mechanics up in Nome.), I'm admittedly a bit sore at the moment...lately, at times like this I find my mind drifting to one particular spot: The lone vestige of serenity and sanity in the entirety of the Bad Boy's Love route.

From now on, whenever I use a Tent-styled "recharge your party's HP/MP at a save point" item in an RPG, I will envision the interior of it to be like this, and have this music playing.

Gonna make future replays of Breath of Fire III/IV a bit more fun, that's for sure. :]

It really is... wonderfully comforting in a way that I hadn't even realized until I played it outside the context of the game here - it definitely brings images of moments of calm to my head.

Curiously it actually reminds me of part of the Silent Hill soundtrack, though I can't quite pinpoint which one - possibly this, a similar... well-deserved break for surviving the game.

In games like these that tax your nerves and wits to no end, it is rather nice to find a place where you can gather your wits, take a few deep breaths, strategize, and get ready to get back at it...especially when the music helps with that mindset.

(The fact that you can usually save at these kinds of locations is a big plus, too.)
