Whoa.

In my Aviation History class today, we were discussing the various parties and aircraft involved in World War II.

At one point we were discussing America's isolationist policy early on in the war, and my instructor described it as follows:

"Y'know, at that point were kinda the anti-war mentality, the anti-Hawk, the Dove Party, if you will..."

I don't remember anything from after that because my brain was too busy processing all the WTF it got flooded with.

Well, yeah, but isn't the whole Hawk and Dove thing itself a political reference first and foremost, like, even before Hatoful? I know the opposing factions being called that really hit its height during the American involvement in Vietnam, and that "hawkish" is a term for particularly warmongering hard-right politicians to this day.

It's the first time I'd ever heard the terms outside of Hatoful, so it came as a bit of a shock, is all.
