Why is it...

...that all of my best ideas seem to hit me about 45 minutes after I've gone to bed?

Long story short: Last night I got hit with an avalanche of ideas for improving and simplifying my first TCG concept, Blade Clash. They were too good for me to be willing to risk forgetting about them as I slept, so I opted for a bit of sleep deprivation, got up, and jotted them down.

Ideas great, timing horrible. :[

Hi, someone who has been working on a novel for the past several years, here. I learned very early on that I cannot live without keeping some sort of notepad equivalent on my person at all times (but especially on the nightstand when I'm in bed) to jot down ideas that hit me when I'm away from a computer. I don't have a smartphone or PDA and all the non-homebrew turn-your-DS-into-a-PDA games are awful, so I use my Voyage 200 (which is only a little ridiculous overkill....) But, you know, whatever works for you!

Well, as someone who enjoys sketching as much as I do, two things I haven't been on short supply of since, roughly, the Cretaceous Period are pencils and scrap paper, so jotting the ideas down wasn't a problem...although, after that particular episode, I decided I might want to start keeping some of those supplies within arms reach.
