You ever have one of those "duh" moments?

Like you're on Livejournal or Tumblr, replying to people's stuff, wondering why nobody's said anything an hour or two later...and then you remember that you live so far west of most of the rest of civilization that anything to the west of you is across the International Date Line, and that the most likely reason for your friends being silent is not only that they're probably asleep, but that a few of them might be just waking up?

...No? Just me having that moment? ...Okay then, never mind.

Time zones are a continuous difficulty for me as a lot of people I speak to are five hours ahead... but being just about the last one in the world up on a particular day must present its own challenges!

I am never able to say good morning to my friend in Scotland.  By the time I wake up on weekends or he comes online IT'S PAST NOON.
