xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Default)
[personal profile] xaq_the_aereon
Time to pick up where we left off last night: plowing through a line of Skull Grunts to get at, and past, Guzma.

Hoo boy.

In order of appearance and swift exit:
-Golbat who gets Erinys up to 52. Yay!
-Raticate wielded by a Grunt who confirms that Aether Foundation was sponsoring Team Skull. Nice job, dipstick.
-And a Grunt who plays it smart and doesn't try to stop me. I like this guy! :D

And now we finally catch up to Gladion, who apparently lost to Guzma. Guess what Hau said before didn't quite get through to him if he thinks spending his days "struggling and lonely" is gonna make him stronger. Doing the opposite's done wonders for me in this game, especially those random sidequests.

And now Guzma's giving him crap for...rejecting his mother? Waaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute...does that mean what I think it means?

Well, that little factoid can wait. Time to give Devastation Incarnate a taste of his own medicine. Again.

[VS BIG BAD GUZMA]
[ROUND 1: vs Golisopod]
Why oh why does he keep opening with his trump card? In any case, Rimefrost is actually a pretty lousy matchup here, so I tag out for Serana. This causes Golisopod's Sucker Punch to fizzle. HA! The next one does connect, though, but only in time for it to eat an Air Slash and drop. This brings Serenity up to 52 with the rest of the party, leaving me to wonder how my starter was somehow at the back of the pack.

[ROUND 2: vs Masquerain]
If memory serves, this is a Water/Flying, which should mean quad-damage from Electric-type attacks. Langstrom, let's test that theory with a Discharge, shall we? ...OUCH. Theory confirmed. That had to sting. X_x;;

[ROUND 3: vs Pinsir]
Obsidian likes squishing bugs, so I'll have her squish this one. I go for a Stone Edge and whiff, and then it crits with a Storm Throw to almost KO her. Fine then, no more being nice.

Note to self: Replace something with Rock Slide; having a Rock-type move that actually HITS would be nice to have in case Splintered Stormshards ever proves nonlethal....like what DIDN'T happen in this case as Serana jumps to 53. :D

[ROUND 4: vs Vikavolt]
Ooo, the evolved form of Charjabug. Bug/Electric...ummm....Fire? Erinys, want to give this a go?

Flamethrower ALMOST KO's it, and then its Thunderbolt does a good chunk of damage. Not good enough, though, and a 2nd Flamethrower leaves Devastation Incarnate's hopes of victory going up in smoke, with Langstrom hopping to 53 and learning Magnet Rise, a move that grants immunity to Ground-type moves, Magneton's only quad-damage weakness, for 5 turns. Hell yes I'm taking that! As useful as Thunder Wave's been, I'll take it. Rimefrost joins it at 53 and Guzma finally realizes he lost.

[FLAWLESS VICTORY]

And with that, Gladion and I charge in to Lillie's rescue...well, actually Gladion doesn't come just yet. Guess that defeat's really sinking in with him, huh? Anyway, I take a sec to refresh my team with a small chunk of my Berry collection, head in the door, and why the hell are Dulse and Zossie standing guard.

Guys, don't make me reevaluate my opinion of you...please, don't try to stop me...please...

...

Dammit, Dulse.

[VS Poipole]
Only Serana has anything super-effective against it, so I tag Rimefrost out while Dulse uses an X-Defense. Too bad for him the move in question, Psychic, uses Special Defense. Poipole loses 80% of its HP and part of its Special Defense in one blow, and wastes what will be its last turn on Nasty Plot to boost its Special Attack.

...And then Dulse uses a Hyper Potion to try and avert my prediction on it being his last turn. Serana's crit says otherwise, and Obsidian reaches a rather somber 53. Still, why did we have to fight...why are you guys trying to stop me from rescuing Lillie and Cosmog?

...

Wait. The reason you're helping Lusamine create Ultra Wormholes back to your world is so that you can bring Trainers from this world there to battle Necrozma? And you're having Colress build a device to contain it?

...

...

I FEEL CONFLICTED ALL OF A SUDDEN, EVERYONE. D:

I honestly don't know how to feel about this anymore...I mean, I still need to rescue Lillie and Cosmog, but their reasons for what they're doing now fall under "saving the world." Am I gonna set up the apocalypse by playing the hero here? D:

...Screw it. There has to be a better option than letting Nebby suffer. Onward I go.

Oh. Hi Lillie. Hi crazy lady. Lillie seems surprised that I came to help her. I'm actually mildly offended by this. Lusamine then asks why a great Trainer like me deigns to associate with someone like Lillie. I'm actually tremendously offended by thidid Lillie just call this psycho-bitch her mother?

Yep. It meant what I thought it meant earlier. ...So wait, doesn't that make Gladion..Lillie's brother?

Aaaand Lusamine just zapped through a teleporter to God-Knows-Where. ...Beam us up, Scotty! And we pop into a biiig freakin' room where Lusamine is standing next to what I can only assume is The Tesseract and surrounded by a crapload of Pokemon frozen in stasis pods.

Crap. Serenity, let's go. Time to shut this psychotic megalomaniac down for goh hi Hau! :D Hi Gladion. :]

... ... ...Did Gladion just say they lost their father in an Ultra Wormhole incident?

[PLEASE DON'T TELL ME MOHN IS LILLIE AND GLADION'S DAD]
Took the words right out of my mouth.

So this is why Lusamine wants to be the one to stop Necrozma, huh? Revenge for her husband, even if it means distancing herself from her daughter and son? ....Aaaaand Hau just realized the family connection.

Normally I'd find this hilarious, but right now I'm just a little too furious with this woman. She drives her family away on a mission of petty vengeance, wanting to save the world solely so that she can keep admiring the Pokemon she has frozen in this torture chamber, and is willing to let an innocent Pokemon, whom a cry lets me know is trapped inside that Tesseract-like thing, die for it despite its efforts to resist and all her childrens' cries for her to stop?

That tears it. Lusamine, for what you've done...

You answer to me.

[ROUND 1: vs Clefable]
I tag in Eriniys, who shrugs off a Moonblast before Toxic'ing it and shrugging off another. Venoshock then hits it rather hard before Hyper Voice...proves to not be enough to take her out. Another Venoshock seals the deal and boosts Erinys to 53.

[ROUND 2: vs Milotic]
She's beauty. She's grace. She's very weak to Electric-type moves, so Langstrom tags in. Hydro Pump hurts like hell, and Discharge drops her to half. I chance another Discharge, but Dragon Pulse takes Langstrom out of the fight. Serenity tags in for him and buys me a turn shrugging off a Hydro Pump while I dump a Revive. Her 2nd Hydro Pump misses, and Moonblast scores the knockout.

[ROUND 3: vs Lilligant]
I'm sensing a pattern here. Anyway, Grass takes Fire and Flying moves rather poorly, so Serana, you're up. A single Air Slash wraps this round up in the blink of an eye, bringing the rest of the team to 53.

[ROUND 4: vs Lopunny]
Given how Normal moves can't hit Ghosts and Fighting moves hurt them badly, Rimefrost takes over. The Lopunny tries Ice Punch...which works about as well as you'd expect given Froslasses are part Ice-type. Wake-Up Slap knocks her down past half. Rinse and repeat next round for the KO.

[FINAL ROUND: vs Bewear]
Normal/Fighting means Fight, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy will do a number on it...we'll go Fairy and let Serenity have another round. Moonblast wraps it up before I can fire an Oceanic Operetta. Oh well, Serana hit 54 out of it, and Lusamine LOSES HER SHIT. GOOD.

...But she's back on her feet moments later, and now she's got Guzma backing her up. Craaaap. With that, she prepares to take off...and Gladion begs her to let him go in her stead, since Type: NULL was bred and trained to be an Ultra Beast-Killer.

She refuses, and opens the Ultra Wormhole. Guzma dives through after her like an idiot, and it slams shut before I can so much as twitch.

Dammit, what do we do now!? I damn well can't put Nebby through that again...assuming the little fluff's even still... ... ...

Did Nebby just turn into a pendant? O_o;;; Rotom, you got anything on this? ...No? Okay. C'mon, Lillie, let's take your brother's advice and get Nebby out of here for now.

We exit the God-Knows-Where and run right into Miss Wicke's ample bosom.
[REALLY, DUDE?]
Whaaaat? We've already established this game to be horrendous amounts of fetish fuel. :p
[OKAY, FAIR POINT]
Thank you. ANYWAY...

...

Anyway, yeah, now we gotta figure out what the hell we're gonna do. We can't go after them, so I think helping Nebby should be our first priority. Then work on some way to go after her and deal with Necrozma.

And now Dulse realizes that Lusamine was using him and Zossie for her own ends. He seems rightly perturbed at this revelation. He actually used an exclamation mark! GASP. Zossie seems confused, but still smiles...making me wonder if that's actually her face or nYOU GUYS KNOW HOW TO OPEN AN ULTRA WORMHOLE!?

...

Well, they did make it here...anyway, Dulse says that the altar on Poni Island is where "the beast that devours the sun" appeared, and is how they got here; by riding on the back of a Pokemon.

Huh.

With a square Alola-wave, they're off. Miss Wicke offers to let us rest at Aether Paradise for the night, which I guess means we're off everyone's shitlist after all the trouble we (I?) caused. Given how we're all pretty well spent, we take her up on the offer. Except for Lillie, who decides to use her mother's quarters instead. Try to get inside her head and figure out what she's been doing and why.

[ONE WELL-EARNED REST LATER]
I'm the first one up, or so I think...Lillie's nowhere to be found in Lusamine's room. Miss Wicke tells me she's waiting outside for me.

WHOA.

A new outfit. Her hair up in a ponytail. A backpack in place of Nebby's bag. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't recognize this as being Lillie, because...she honestly looks like a Trainer now.

Goodbye regular Lillie, hello Z-POWERED LILLIE!

Okay, that Normalium-Z Pose was equal parts adorable and badass. +5000 points to you, Lillie. ^_^ Oh, and here's Gladion, with something he found in his mom's room. An item called "The Moon Flute," bearing the symbol we saw back at the Temple of the Moone, and said to be able to call a Legendary Pokemon when played together with the Sun Flute.

Totally not a completely-true myth.

Gladion also gives me a little something to aid in my future quests...just a little thing called

THE MASTER BALL!

With that, he departs to protect Aether Paradise from whatever hell's surely coming our way at this point. Maybe now that he's not alone, he'll find the strength to do it.

Oh hi Hau! :D ...Yes, you dork, that's Lillie. XD And now he wants to chase the feeling of empowerment he felt when he and his team were working in sync to protect Lillie and Nebby. Good for you, buddy. Guess we'll meet again somewhere down the road...I expect big things from you then. Alola, Hau! ^_^

Oh, right. Gladion, that's your boat that got us here, right? Think you could give us a lift to Poni Island? Danke. I'll meet you there in a bit...now that you're not blocking the door to Secret Lab A, I'd like to learn a little more about your partner. Hmm...a book full of deleted files. Interesting. (Also...how?)

[BKP DEVELOPMENT RECORD, FILE #2]
Anti-UB Fighting life-form, BK...Beast Killer.
The President has approved the propsed budget for this development project, so it will be implemented.

[FILE #5]
Materials for development have been collected from the Canalave Library in the Sinnoh Region.
Plans are being drawn up for the specifications of the Type change program, known as the RKS System.
Work is underway on designing the specifications of special memories for said system.

Sinnoh Region...Type-changing RKS System....oh good lord, they're recreating Arceus.

[FILE #7]
Collection of cells of all Types for genetic modeling has been completed. Blueprints for the skeletal structure have been approved, and incubation of the bio-frame is underway.

[FILE #11]
Dummy test of the RKS System program has been completed. Type has been successfully altered with all 18 special memories.
The transplantation of the RKS System program to the models is underway.
The Beast Killer's official name has been set as Type: FULL.

Wait...Type: FULL?

[FILE #18]
Production of three models has been completed. They are identified as Serial Number 01, Serial Number 02, and Serial Number 03.
All three models rejected the RKS System upon initialization during testing.
Shortly after these initialization errors, all three models of Type: FULL went berserk.

This is what you get for playing God, I suppose.

[FILE #44]
Models have been fitted with control masks to mitigate the effects of their rejection of the RKS System.
Due to the implementation of these control masks, our RKS System initialization tests have failed.
All three models of Type: FULL are to be cryogenically frozen for the rest of eternity.
The name of these models has been changed from Type: FULL to Type: NULL.

!!!

Oh good lord...Gladion's partner is a failed attempt to recreate the Creator-God of the Pokemon World, Arceus?

What in the world...alright, let's see what's on the computer, then.

[THIS IS THE BLOG OF F, A BRANCH CHIEF WORKING IN THE ALOLA REGION]

Oh for fuck's sake I've found Faba's Myspace page. This ought to be good for a laugh.

[INTRODUCTION]
Are you interested in success, dear readers? Then allow me to introduce myself.
My name is F, and I am an elite, self-made man.
Here on my blog, I will show you the way to succeed.

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

[MULTITASKING]
Currently I am working on the development of a special sort of ball, which I took over from my predecessor, in parallel with another project.
Seeing how well I multitask impresses my subordinates and increases their motivation.
Showing how skillful you are is a kind of on-the-job training for your underlings.

...Suddenly not laughing anymore. He's still arrogant as all hell, but he's not wrong. Setting a good example definitely helps those you work with.

[HEDGING RISKS]
I once ventured to undertake a project without notifying my superior. I developed a device to restrain a dangerous life form, in case it became necessary to do so.
I had it made for hedging risks to protect myself, but for better or worse, it was made public.
It is always essential to consider the risks before one takes action.

Okay, again, sound advice...wow, if Faba would just pull his head out of his ass, I might actually start to like him.

[MASSAGING THE TRUTH]
Okay, never mind.
My superior's family stole the results of our research and ran off. However, I have chosen to never blow this issue out of proportion.
I will only be reprimanded for my own mistakes, and surely my superior is also displeased with the actions of her family as well.
When necessary, one must always be prepared to massage the truth to protect one's own position. It is not an exaggeration to say that this skill is vital for success.

... ... ...It disgusts me how much truth is in what he says there.

[CTRL-ALT-FUCK THIS]
Amen. Off to the docks to catch up with Gladion and Lillie.

[CUE THE RIDICULOUS DOTS-ACROSS-THE-MAP TRAVEL SEQUENCE]
And here we are at Poni Island! We disembark at the Seafolk Village, and Gladion tells me to go find the Kahuna, who guards the altar that we can use to get to the world Lusamine went to...then he and Lillie have a heart-to-heart about why he left, and he returns to Aether Paradise to protect it in Lusamine's stead. Heh, he's not a bad kid, y'know? From here on out, guess it's just me and Lillie.

And on that note, I'm gonna call it a night.
