No kidding! A few days ago I decided to test out a theory regarding the "Money Trees" you could plant in the game; sometimes you'll see a glowing spot in the ground, and if you dig it up you'll get 1000 Bells. The hole it was in will still be glowing, and if you plant a bag of Bells into it, it will eventually grow into a tree with Bells growing on it, giving you 3x your investment.
Celine thought it maxed out at 10,000, but I decided to take the maximum gamble and dumped 99,000 Bells into a Money Tree pit.
[LONG STORY SHORT: JACKPOT!]
Just cleaned up 297,000 Bells, enough to pay off the current loan on my house and get a head start on the next expansion.
[OH YEAH! NEW VILLAGER!]
Ah. Yes. Recently we opened the campsite on Sivanris, and had our first visitor-turned-new-villager: Hans the Alpine Gorilla.
Gotta be honest, this guy rubs me the wrong way. He's been rather full of himself, and for some reason he's decorated the interior of his house to be a frozen tundra...on a tropical island...for no other reason than to justify wearing a sweater and keeping TWO campfires roaring in his house.
[AS OPPOSED TO CRACKING A WINDOW OPEN AND ENJOYING THIS WEATHER]
No kidding. e_e
Still, tomorrow we'll get to visit some genuinely welcome newcomers to the island: Mabel and her sister open up their clothing store!
