xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Default)

We're back from under the bridge, and the moment I step down onto Route 207...

[WAIT, HAVEN'T WE BEEN HERE BEFORE?]
...Maybe? Anyway, Lucas pops up, talking about some tools he's been working on. The one in his left hand is called the Vs. Seeker, which lets you rematch against Trainers you've beaten before. He also gives us the Dowsing Machine app for the Poketch, which can spot hidden items on the ground.

[AND WITH THAT, HE GONE!]

I try the Dowsing Machine out, and after about 2 minutes of trying to get myself pixel-perfect on a random spot on the ground, I find a Revive. So this thing's about as useful as a kick to the head.

A short trip further south and YEP, thought this route number was familiar. That's the ramp we couldn't get up without a Bike earlier, meaning dead south of here is Oreburgh.

[MAY AS WELL SWING BY THE POKECEN AND POKEMART WHILE WE'RE HERE]
True enough. I saw a pair of camper kids off to the side a moment ago, probably gonna want to battle.

[AAAND EEEYUP]
[VS. Camper Anthony & Picnicker Lauren]
[vs. Ponyta and Pachirisu]
A pair of Bites from Nala and Dogmeat take out Ponyta and most of Pachirisu's HP, while its Nuzzle misses. Quick Attack knicks Nala, whose Bite finishes the job. Just past them are some vents for the Grand Underground, which this area is over a new section of. So if you'll excuse me for a while...

[ONE HORRENDOUSLY LONG DISTRACTION LATER]

[BELFRIES: via TM: Poison Fang -> X-Scissor]
Well that actually paid off; X-Scissor is one of my favorite attacks in the game and, by far, my favorite Bug-type move.

It also occurred to me that, on my previous trip, I found 2 Armor Fossils. Seeing as I'm right by Oreburgh, I may as well check to see if the fossil enthusiast at the museum can revive them.

[SHIELDON GET!]
I'll take that as a yes. With that, I make for the cave to the east of Route 207, which is apparently a place called Mt. Coronet according to the Hiker I just crashed into.

[OOPS!]
[VS. Hiker Justin]
[Round 1: vs. Geodude]
Nala's at a type disadvantage, so even with 12 levels on the guy I tag in Tessa. Geodude uses this turn to Harden, which does squat to save it from a Bubble Beam.

[Round 2: vs. Bronzor]
Psychic/Steel, right? So Electric OR Dark should work nicely. I let Dogmeat go for this one and have her Beat Up the poor thing. Half the team gets in on before Bronzor's out cold.
[MEANIE]

And with that, we enter Mt. Coronet...perfect place to call this entry.

[TEAM STATUS]
Nala, Lv 28
Dogmeat, Lv 28
Astra, Lv 26
Belfries, Lv 26
Tessa, Lv 27
Atlas, Lv 27

[UNTIL NEXT TIME]
Later everyone!
